Alone in the Dark Inferno – PS3 REVIEW

A cool review for an even cooler game, extremely entertaining and immersive. An action/ adventure/ horror blockbuster game experience for PLAYSTATION 3 system. Alone in the Dark (2008 version) 1st came out to PS2 in June. It was an innovative survival horror game with a bad execution, full of bugs…but still good. Others versions came out – PC, Wii and 360 – with much more improved graphics and way better, but still something wasn’t right…still some bugs bothered some players. ______________________________________________________________________________ Very sad with the disappointment of some media and gamers, producers delayed the PS3 version to November to receive some enhancements (although here in Brazil I could only find in stores December to January 2009). It also received a subtitle: INFERNO. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Here are the improvements in PS3 INFERNO VERSION over earlier versions: 1. BRAND NEW THRILLING EXPLOSIVE ACTION SEQUENCE HAS BEEN ADDED IN EPISODE 6: SUBWAY BOSS BATTLE. 2. FINE TUNED CONTROLS: CARS MANEUVERS MORE REALISTIC (with increased suspension and reduced drifting giving overall better handling to make driving a fun walk in the park every time). Edward Carnby movements also got better. 3. A MORE ZOOMED – OUT 3RD PERSON CAMERA VIEW. 4. TOTAL CONTROL OF THE CAMERA (full 360 degree camera control), enabling players to view the fire and mass destruction they are causing in all of …

@MoonOvIce: I think the demo ain’t the same of the final version. INFERNO came exactly to fix bugs, add a new explosive scene (the subway boss), total control of the camera, better driving (but if you try to jump ramps…it still sucks), better controls, a more friendly inventory… While PS2 version got low score like 4.0, XBOX360 a medium score of 6.0, the PS3 reached good rates like 8.0 to 9.0. This game definitely worth looking for…

I just read somewhere that the Demo for this game on the playstation store is does not make the final game justice? as in, the final game does not have the problems the demos has? is this true’ can anybody that tried the demo AND the final game tell me? I mean, the demo did say INFERNO and not just the game title…

I remember waiting for this game back when I had a 360 (which I no longer have and actually died months before this game came out) waiting for this game and see how a modern Alone game would turn out.
I later got a PS3 and downloaded the demo, at least in the demo I found the controls ridiculous and it was filled with weird bugs, also some ugly low resolution textures but mostly the controls were horrible I thought, really uncomfortable.
Does anyone have problems with the final games controls?

@TheWweCanada: I’m quite sure you’re not a PS3 owner. And if you played Inferno version…and hated it, well, its your opinion and I respect. But disagree. This game kick ass.

sorry for another comment i played the ps3 vrsion in my friends house and i was stuck on rope with no ammo and those bats were flying around me

@shadowrockz07: Whenever you rent it, tell me if you enjoyed the game. Take a look at my Alone video – Episode 07, at 05:37. The carck appears, and I allow it to take me. In game, to get out you have to press certain buttons in key moments, like pressing right if into your right there’s a lamppost. And the more comments, the better. Be welcome. But I advise you not looking all Alone videos, if you have intention in renting it.

@HateCoD: By the way Alone Inferno ends…seems a sequel will come someday. Since Alone exists over 2 decades, quite sure they won’t stop so soon.

Will there ever be another Alone in the Dark game? I just finshed this game on my ps3 and I think it’s really good. Like watching a movie and some very creative puzzles. It has some amazing cinematic scenes considering you can still control it. Very under rated game, hope they make another!

@shadowrockz07: Dude, I’m extremely anxious fto check it out Dead Rising 2. But I got admit…since the team behind the sequel is different from the 1st one…I’m kinda worried. I’m also worried for those stupid slaughter zombies games…but I heard there will be main story and this games been a multiplayer part of the game. I’ll wait the review to see if I buy it or not. 1st one kicked ass. Meanwhile, I’ll check it out UNCHARTED 2 and HEAVY RAIN before.

@links121995: Well…Alone in the Dark have never been based on a movie. The great 1st Alone in the Dark came aprox. in 1991. The game has always followed the suspense feel with occult themes …
Yes, the movie sucks. EVERYBODY, AVOID THE MOVIE. Its 1.000x times worse than those RE movies craps.

A game based on a movie based on a game,nothing more and as for the MOVIE…That was hardly based on any of the games except for Edward Carnby who has shifted in appearance yet again.

@DamuEmran: You’re right, they made PS3 version the ultimate and best game compared to others plataforms…considering the gamers complaining about some bugs. READ MY VIDEO DESCRIPTION and you’ll see all the improvements. Thanks for your coments, and I also apreciate a lot this game.

it looks like they added a few things to the ps3 version compared to the360 version. I love alone in the dark(2008)

Yes (ficha13): there are people that enjoyed Alone in PS2. I saw the whole game here in youtube and also enjoyed…except the cars moments. Take a look at SonjaBlue Alone PS2 videos…really cool.

did anyone like it on the ps2? before i got a better comp i played it there first. I really liked it even if it wasn’t like the PC/XBOX 360/PS3 one. the game was still different and interesting
